School Counseling
Dear P.S. 135 Families,
In these trying times, some of us are also experiencing loss within our families, communities, and organizations we are a part of. With the current health crisis, unfortunately, we cannot grieve as we typically would which can add even more sadness and anxiety to an already difficult situation and may create more confusion for our little ones. In an effort to support any family dealing with the loss of life, I would like to share some resources that may help you with the grieving process. Please feel free to reach out to me at AArduini@schools.nyc.gov if you have any questions or concerns.
With warm regards,
Alison Arduini

SCHOOL COUNSELING UPDATES
To help our K-5 students build character, we use a program called Cloud 9 World. Each month we focus on learning about a particular character trait and we conclude the month with a virtual Character Education awards assembly, where we recognize students who have been nominated by their teachers for actively demonstrating the trait of the month. We will begin virtual award assemblies in October.
Our Character trait of the Month for September 2021 is SOLIDARITY. Our classes will focus on learning about what solidarity means and how people can show solidarity. We encourage parents/guardians to use the at-home resources from the Cloud 9 website to reinforce these traits throughout the school year. Log-in information has been posted to Class Dojo for P.S. 135 parents/guardians (K-5).
