Family Engagement

At P.S. 135, we believe that strong family partnerships are essential to student success.

We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for families to stay informed, involved, and connected to our school community throughout the year.

Our family engagement initiatives include:

  • Monthly Coffee Chats with Admin
    Join our leadership team for open conversations, school updates, and opportunities to ask questions and share feedback.
  • Family Workshops & Events
    We offer workshops, curriculum nights, and arts showcases to help families better understand our academic programs and support learning at home.
  • Cultural Celebrations & Community Events
    Families are invited to participate in events that celebrate our school’s diversity and foster a sense of community, including Dads Take Your Child to School Day, International Night, and student performances.
  • ClassDojo Communication
    We use ClassDojo to share important school updates, classroom news, event reminders, and resources. Families are encouraged to stay connected and engaged through the app.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences
    We host conferences throughout the year to strengthen the home-school connection and collaborate on student progress and goals.
  • School Leadership Team (SLT) & Parent Association (PA)
    Parents have opportunities to serve on school committees, help shape school decisions, and support programs that benefit our students.
