Student council woud like to thank the P.S.135Q family for contributing to our annual city harvest food drive. Together, we collected 525 pounds of non-perishables to be distributed to families in our area. On behalf of Mrs. Lagnese and the staff of P.S. 135Q, we wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. Please be reminded that school is closed Thursday, 11/22/18 and Friday, 11/23/18.
On November 19, our 5th-grade classes visited local middle school I.S. 238 The Susan B. Anthony School, where they were greeted by faculty members who then provided our students with informative group tours of the building. Our 5th graders got to see classrooms, science labs, the library, the gym, computer labs, music rooms and the lunchroom among other useful sites within the school. The visit was concluded with an interactive Q&A session between our current 5th graders and P.S. 135 alumni who now attend I.S. 238.

Navigating through the Special Education process can be confusing and overwhelming. Public School 135 has created a series of workshop to answer parent’s questions and provide easy to understand information about Special Education. The first part of this four-part series will address the legal rights of children with disabilities. This workshop is designed for all adults interested in learning more about Special Education. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with other parents. Light refreshments will be served.
This Thursday, November 15, 2018, is the last day Student Council will be collecting canned food.
Please help us stock the shelves at local food pantries and soup kitchens!
Class 403 had fun with Ms. Karen while they were learning about and took part in several Brain Power Wellness Activities that rejuvenated their physical health, focus, and memory!
Class 403 celebrated our first Publishing Party for the school year. After weeks of learning and practicing how to craft true stories, we finally got to proudly share our very own Realistic Fiction Stories with our classmates. We read the stories firsthand and commented with compliments highlighting writing crafts done well. In the end, we celebrated a job well done with refreshments!
