Principal’s Message

Dear Public School 135 Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child(ren) to Public School 135Q. I hope you had an enjoyable summer and you are just as excited as I am to start the new school year.

P.S 135 is a magnificent school with an enthusiastic staff that is dedicated to providing your children with a safe, risk free, challenging learning environment through a rigorous curriculum.

During the summer I came across a powerful quote by Margaret Mead. The quote said, “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think”. This is exactly what we are striving for. The motto of P.S. 135 is “The school that C.A.R.E.S.!” Your child will know that every staff member C.A.R.E.S. about them by instilling the following:

Confident, passionate, motivated lifelong learners
Achieve their personal and academic goals
Reflective of their learning
Equip each student with the skills to reach their fullest potential
Supportive, safe and nurturing learning environment that fosters independent thinking

You are an important part of your child’s education. I strongly believe that to fully educate your child there must be a strong partnership between the PS 135 staff and the every child’s family. At P.S. 135 we welcome and encourage all family members to become a part of our P.T.A. Through serving as an active member of the P.T.A., you can be a part of special events and your participation is always welcomed.

Your voice is very important to me. I have an open door policy and welcome your questions and concerns. We are both working toward the same common goal, to educate and enrich your child.

I am confident that this will be an exceptional school year. I am looking forward to working with you and your child as we continue on the path toward academic excellence!

With warm regards,
Ms. Diana Lagnese
